Welcome again students and parents of Grades 3-5!

My name is Eric Barsallo. I am a Physical Educator with 22 years of experience in schools. My relevant experience in the field includes:

2 years as a lifeguard (red cross & WaterPark)
5 years as a youth soccer coach, (Alianza FC, Chorrillo FC)
Personal trainer and spinning (Powerclub Gym),

15 years as triathlon trainer, and now a Technical Offiicial for unión de triatlón de Panamá (UTP)

Below is some useful information for the entire school year regarding the Physical Education (P.E.) kit:

P.E. uniform: MET uniform grey t-shirt, MET uniform blue shorts, water bottle-labeled, running shoes (NO CLEATS) and hat-labeled
No jewelry is permitted during the P.E. class time.
In an unusual case of inability to do physical activities, we require a medical evaluation with your certification sent to the homeroom teacher, with a copy to me.

Learning in Physical Education for Grades 3 through 5 include:

First trimester: Team sports with ball (kickball, baseball), jump rope and diagnostic exercises used to set individual physical fitness goals
Second trimester: aquatic safety, rescue techniques, swimming (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke & butterfly),  and water sports (snorkeling, water polo)

Third trimester:  Track & Field: for field events: (Long jump, Javelin, shot put, discus, High Jump) and for track: (sprints, speed walk, hurdles, relay); as well as handball and soccer

I look forward to a school year with a positive support for our P.E. students.
